- With Other Users: Your profile information, username, and messages are visible to other Flok users in the same chat rooms

- Notification Control: Opt out of push notifications in device settings
Account Deletion
You can delete your account at any time through the App settings. When you delete your account:
- Your profile and personal information are permanently deleted
- Your messages will be anonymized (shown as “Deleted User”) to preserve chat context
- All friend connections, RSVPs, and social data are removed
- This action cannot be undone

Children’s Privacy
Flok is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.
Location Data Specifics
Why We Collect Location
- To show you chat rooms near your current location
- To display events happening nearby
- To enable location-based community features
How Location is Used
- Location is only accessed when the app is in use
- Location data is used in real-time and not permanently stored
- You can disable location access at any time through device settings
Consequences of Disabling Location
- You will not be able to access location-based chat rooms
- Nearby events will not be available
- Core map features will be limited
Push Notifications
We send push notifications for:
- Friend requests
- Event updates
- App announcements
You can disable push notifications:
- In your device settings
- In the Flok app settings
Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Data is retained while your account is active
- Deleted Accounts: Data is deleted immediately upon account deletion; messages are anonymized
- Messages: Chat messages are retained to preserve conversation context, but are anonymized when a user deletes their account
- Logs: Error logs are retained for 90 days
International Data Transfers
Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers, in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through:
- In-app notifications
- Email to your registered address
- Updated “Last Updated” date at the top of this policy
